To ensure that our materials are based on information you can trust, we follow a standardized development process:

• We begin by selecting key topics relevant to the field of early childhood development. Topics are chosen from a variety of sources including: parent focus groups, expert panel suggestions, medical and education community feedback, identified childcare issues, articles in published in child-development literature, and interpretations of research presented in the media.
• Once a topic has been identified, we complete an in-depth review of the relevant literature and analyze available studies by experts in the field related to the selected topic.
• After we have studied and synthesized the research, we explore the application of the information to children’s development and the parent child relationship. When findings are valuable for increasing parents’ knowledge, confidence or supporting new parenting behaviors, then we then turn knowledge into resources through products such as our online tools, parenting DVDs, parenting kits, and professional curriculum.
