Preschoolers enjoy vivid fantasy lives and imagine themselves in a variety of different roles, from firefighters and dancers to doctors and superheroes. Taking on different identities and conversing with imaginary friends allows them to explore a wide range of emotions and experiences. Preschoolers move back and forth freely between fantasy and reality.
